Saving Big with Energy Star Appliances

LU FAQE7077KA 928 Saving Big with Energy Star Appliances“Going green” isn’t just a media-driven fad. These days, reducing one’s carbon footprint and the impact they have on the environment leads to a series of personal and environmental benefits, including (but not limited to) decreasing pollution, minimizing waste and an overall general improvement of our Earth. One way to offset our wastefulness is to reduce energy use with energy-efficient appliances.

Right now we have a great deal on Frigidaire Affinity washers, which are Energy Star and also have an Energy Saver wash option. Right now,  our Frigidaire Affinity laundry package is only $1,099, saving you a total of $1,307 (which includes $150 in rebates)! This way, you’re decreasing your energy output and saving big at the same time.

Though there’s a whole generation of Smart Grid-enabled appliances to come later this year or early next year, it’s never too early to start saving on costs and energy output with the current generation of products. We currently have an entire section on the website devoted to Energy Star appliances, each including an Energy Guide (located in the “Info and Guides” tab).  If you’re interested in approximately how much money you’ll spend with a specific Energy Star rated appliance, take the given kWh/year data and the Yearly Operating Cost from the Energy Guide, and apply it to the following formulas:

  • For Refrigerators and Freezers, Dishwashers and Clothes Washers: Estimated annual operating cost =   Annual Energy Consumption (in kWh/yr)   X  $ .1065
  • For Air Conditioners: Estimated Annual Operating Cost =  Capacity/ EER   X 750 hours  X $ .1065

Or just check our Energy Info tab on the product page where we do the math for you.

Certain appliances, like ranges and dryers, are not Energy Star certified because of the large amount of energy they consume. However, the FTC has a purchasing guide to help you save the most energy with these devices.
